Description:
Surface wax coating on the spike appears absent (wax code - ++ ++) (4). In the Bowman backcross-derived line for cer-yt.758, culm nodes appear visually to lack surface wax coating. Most other morphological traits of plants of the line BW151 were similar to those of Bowman, except for kernel weights were 10 to15% lower. Grain yields varied from equal to 50% lower (2).
